FAQs
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
1
Therapy can be helpful if you are experiencing emotional distress, ongoing stress, relationship challenges, or simply feel “stuck.” You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people seek support to better understand themselves, build coping skills, or navigate life transitions.
Do you take insurance?
2
Yes! I currently accept Carelon Behavioral Health, Kaiser Permanente of the Mid Atlantic, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Quest Behavioral Health, Aetna, Cigna, and Anthem.
How much will each session cost?
3
My self-pay rate per session is $105.
Co-pay and co-insurance costs are dependent on your individual insurance plan. You can get a price estimate through my Headway page, though I highly recommend reaching out to your health insurance carrier to verify.
How does payment work?
4
I utilize Headway as my billing and health insurance tool. Headway accepts most major credit cards, debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and ACH bank transfers. I do not accept checks or cash.
Is everything I share in therapy confidential?
5
Confidentiality is a fundamental part of therapy. Information shared in sessions is kept private, with limited exceptions required by law, such as concerns about immediate safety. I will review confidentiality policies with you during the intake appointment so you understand how your information is protected.
How long does therapy usually last?
6
The length of therapy varies based on individual needs, goals, and circumstances. Some people benefit from short-term, focused support, while others engage in longer-term therapy for deeper exploration and growth. We will regularly review progress together and adjust the approach as needed.
Can you prescribe medication?
7
No, I cannot prescribe medication. However, we can explore any interest in psychiatric medication together and I can offer referrals as needed.
Can you diagnose?
8
As an LPC I can diagnose mental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety. However, there are some limitations to what I can diagnose. For example, diagnoses such as ADHD and Autism require a full evaluation conducted by a psychologist, psychiatrist, or other formally trained clinician. Learning disabilities require a full psychoeducational evaluation that I am also not trained in. I will communicate with your during our time together if a referral is necessary or recommended by myself.
What’s your cancellation policy?
9
You may cancel appointments in advance without charge, as long as I receive a 24-hour notice in advance. For appointment no-shows, last-minute cancellations, or arriving more than 15 minutes late, you may be charged a $75 fee.
