Embrace your humanness. Cultivate your growth.

Helping you find balance
and clarity.

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overlooked, overwhelmed, or pulled in different directions by cultures, expectations, and roles. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can show up as your full self, explore your experiences with honesty, and feel genuinely heard and understood. Together, we’ll work toward building self-awareness, resilience, and confidence so you can navigate life with greater clarity, authenticity, and connection.

MEET THE THERAPIST

Gabby Oblena, LPC

Pronouns: she/her/hers

I became a therapist to be the kind of person my younger self needed—someone who offers a safe space to feel deeply, embrace vulnerability, regulate overwhelming emotions, and nurture both self‐compassion and compassion for others. My hope is to be that person for my clients.

I specialize in working with young adults, Asian Americans, and LGBTQ+ individuals navigating depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, identity exploration, and life transitions. I offer holistic, non-judgmental, and eclectic counseling tailored to your needs. My style is conversational and collaborative, helping you feel safe, truly seen, and heard. I integrate practical tools with curiosity and care, and I bring humor and a relaxed, down-to-earth tone to create a comfortable, supportive space for growth and healing.

When I’m not in therapy sessions, you’ll most likely find me playing video games, reading, cuddling with my cat, or watching Bob’s Burgers.

My Therapeutic
Approaches

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Helps people identify and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior that contribute to emotional distress. It focuses on practical skills, such as reframing negative thoughts, gradually facing fears, and building healthier habits.

Humanistic
Therapy

Focuses on personal growth, self-awareness, and an individual’s capacity to make meaningful choices. It emphasizes empathy, authenticity, and creating a supportive therapeutic relationship that helps people better understand themselves.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

Helps people accept difficult thoughts and emotions instead of struggling to eliminate them. It emphasizes mindfulness, psychological flexibility, and taking actions that align with personal values, even in the presence of discomfort.

Trauma-Informed Care

Recognizes how past trauma can affect a person’s emotions, behavior, relationships, and sense of safety. It emphasizes creating a supportive, empowering environment where clients feel physically and emotionally safe, while avoiding practices that could retraumatize them.

What therapy looks like with me

Therapy is a collaborative and supportive process, shaped around your unique needs and experiences. Each step is designed to help you feel safe, understood, and gently supported as you move toward greater clarity, balance, and emotional well-being at a pace that feels right for you.

Initial Intake Appointment

01

We begin with a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment that helps me gain a deeper understanding of your background, experiences, and current concerns. It’s also an opportunity for us to begin building a strong therapeutic connection, giving you space to get to know me and determine whether our work together feels like the right fit for you.

Rapport Building

02

A strong therapeutic connection is one of the most important foundations for meaningful progress in therapy. During our first few sessions, we’ll take time to get to know each other more deeply while exploring your experiences, the ways you move through the world, and what feels most important to you. My goal is to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and comfortable so therapy can unfold at a pace that works for you.

Psychoeducation & Building Helpful Tools

03

Throughout our work together, I provide psychoeducation on mental health, emotional patterns, and coping strategies to help you better understand yourself and your experiences. Therapy is a collaborative process, and together we’ll explore what approaches, tools, and insights resonate most with you as you continue to grow and heal.

Thoughtful Processing and Reflection

04

Together, we’ll thoughtfully explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a way that fosters greater clarity, understanding, and self-awareness. Through active listening, compassionate reflection, and gentle guidance, I’ll help you deepen your insight and see your experiences from new perspectives.

You don’t have to carry it alone.

And just because you can, doesn’t meant that you have to.
